CROGHAN- One person was taken to the hospital after a motor vehicle roll-over accident over the weekend in Lewis County, emergency responders say.

It was shortly before 3:00 p.m. Saturday when 9-1-1 dispatchers began taking calls over an accident on the Zecher Road, town of Croghan.

Castorland Fire Department was the primary responder. An SUV was located on its side, down an embankment up against some trees.

Firefighters said the driver was initially alert, but trapped. As the situation developed, it’s reported the victim may have begun suffering from a seizure and became not alert.

Orders were given to rescue the driver via the jaws of life. EMT crews from Beaver Falls and Carthage provided initial care for the patient as they were loaded into an ambulance and rushed to a local hospital.

A description of injuries was not provided.

In addition to Beaver Falls and Carthage, members from the Sheriff’s Office and Beller’s Auto assisted on scene.
