Fatal head-on collision between vehicle and UTV in Herkimer County under State Police investigation

RUSSIA- State Police are investigating a fatal car versus UTV collision that occurred over the weekend in Herkimer County.

Emergency officials say the wreck occurred just before 11:00 p.m. Saturday night in the area of 749 Rose Valley Road, town of Russia.

As of this report, investigators say there was a head-on between a passenger vehicle and a UTV. Upon their arrival, Troopers found the sole occupant of the UTV to be deceased.

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle was transported by ambulance to Wynn Hospital with what was described by emergency personnel as non-life threating injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Collision Reconstruction Unit.
