Erwin Park smashed vending machine

BOONVILLE- Boonville’s spree of vandalism roars on as village police have now announced the arrests of two teenagers for smashing and stealing items from a vending machine.

Boonville Police Officer in Charge Fred Robenski says the 14 and 15-year-old suspects, both females, are responsible for smashing a vending machine out with a rock and stealing various snacks from inside.

The incident reportedly occurred Tuesday evening in Erwin Park and follows in the wake of another incident last weekend, where someone tore up the lawns across from the park at the very bottom edge of Boonville Cemetery.

With the help from the Parks and Streets Department, evidence was secured on scene, which helped identify the suspects.

Due to age, Robenski said their names could not be released. The teens were brought in to the village police station for interviewing, where they were released on juvenile appearance tickets.

Both are due to appear in Oneida County Probation at a later date.
