LOWVILLE- An update has surfaced concerning the death of a local man who was reported missing in late February.
During the afternoon hours of last Thursday, tree crews working in Lowville, NY called emergency authorities after witnessing what appeared to be a dead body in Mill Creek.
Officials with Lowville Village Police Department confirmed with us this morning that was the body of Paul R. Barker Jr., 67, of Lowville, NY.
Lowville Police first reported him missing and confirmed he was found deceased only days later, but did not describe exactly where he was located.
In this week’s New York State Forest Ranger highlights, it’s reported that Rangers were assisting village police and sheriff’s deputies in the search for Barker Jr. when his body was found in the creek.
Forest Rangers helped remove Barker Jr. from the creek with a rope system.
Again, local authorities would like to thank everyone who reached out and provided assistance in the search effort.
