Forest Rangers assist woman with injured ankle on Bald Mountain

WEBB- A hiker who injured her ankle last Friday in the Western Adirondacks received assistance from New York State Forest Rangers.

It was shortly before 4:30 p.m. when Forest Rangers received reports of an injured hiker on Bald Mountain.

Assistant Forest Ranger Bolton took the call and responded to the scene.

The DEC reports a 51-year-old woman from New Hampshire had injured her ankle. She was with her daughter.

When Assistant Ranger Bolton arrived, the woman had wrapped the injury and started medication for pain and swelling. Ranger McCartney responded to help and with their teamwork, the hiker and her daughter were guided safely back down the mountain.

No specific injuries were mentioned by authorities and there were no details available describing any further transport to area hospitals.
