
BOONVILLE- A juvenile suspect was taken into police custody Tuesday night following reports of a dispute that resulted in a stabbing.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the 400 block of Post Street at around 8:30 p.m. Initial reports from Oneida County 9-1-1 suggested a stabbing and/or reports of gun shots, however; authorities have since confirmed there were no gun shots.
With that being said, Boonville Police Officer in Charge Fred Robenski says one male victim has suffered a serious laceration to his arm from a physical altercation.
He was not identified and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Although the laceration was serious, police clarified it was non-life threatening.
As a result of police investigation thus far, officer Robenski told us a juvenile suspect has been taken into custody.
A name will not be available due to their age. If appropriate, police say there may be more details released at another time.
For now, the case remains under investigation.
The incident appears to be isolated to just the individuals involved and police said at press time that there is no danger to the public.
Boonville Police received assistance from the State Police, Sheriff's Office and Boonville Ambulance.
