Former head of West Carthage Housing Authority to receive probation as stolen funds have been repaid

JEFFERSON COUNTY- The former head of West Carthage Housing Authority, who embezzled nearly $50,000 in funds, will not be spending time in prison.

Instead, Jan Hoffman, appeared in Jefferson County Court on Tuesday and received a sentence of 5-years’ probation.

This development is according to the latest from WWNY-TV.

Hoffman, the former Executive Director for West Carthage Housing Authority from 2016 – 2021, pleaded guilty to grand larceny in the third-degree back in June.

It’s reported by court officials that the stolen money has been paid back.

The WCHA is a government funded organization, providing housing for low income senior citizens and disabled individuals.
