General Surgeon Rachel Zehr to join medical team at Lewis County Health System in September

LOWVILLE- Lewis County Health System is pleased to announce a new General Surgeon, who will be joining the medical team later this summer.

Rachel B. Zehr, M.D., will join the General Surgery team at Lewis County Surgical Associates on Monday, September 11, 2023.

"I am looking forward to returning home and providing local access to surgical care for the residents of Lewis County and neighboring communities," Zehr said.

Dr. Zehr grew up in Lowville and was a 2002 Lowville Academy Central School graduate.

"I am so thankful that Dr. Zehr will return to her hometown and bring her exceptional skills, training, empathy, and compassion to care for our family, friends, and neighbors here in Lewis County," said Sean Harney, M.D., Chief Medical Officer of Employed Practices.

Prior to her arrival soon at LCHS, Dr. Zehr has been practicing in Oneonta and Cooperstown, NY, and provides a broad range of surgical care.

She will be joining General Surgeons Jon Baker, M.D., Steve Kwon, M.D., and David Vivas, M.D., at Lewis County Surgical Associates located on the main campus in Lowville, NY.
