TOWN OF MARTINSBURG-A 26 year old local resident and a 24 year old Constantia resident were arrested by Lewis County Sheriff’s Deputies on Thursday following an investigation after deputies were requested by New York State Parole for assistance. The Sheriff’s office then obtained a search warrant for the residence. Following the warrant, deputies found about 2 ½ ounces of cocaine, and unregistered Glock 9 mm handgun along with scales and packaging inside of the residence. Travon P. Watkins of Glenfield was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, a Class B Felony; 2 counts of Criminally using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree, for the scales and packaging a Class A misdemeanor; Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree (loaded firearm), a Class C felony. Watkins was arraigned in the C.A.P. Court where he was held without bail. Anthony L. Salati on Constantia was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a Class A misdemeanor and Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a Class E felony. Salati was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Martinsburg. The incident remains under investigation.
