Boonville Fair 2022

BOONVILLE- The 137th annual Boonville-Oneida County Fair is underway and if you plan on visiting, officials advise that there is ongoing construction work throughout the downtown area.

For the foreseeable future, crews will continue milling and paving various stretches of Main Street, Post Street (this includes State Route 46 and State Route 12-D), Ford Street (State Route 294) and Schuyler Streets.

Officials from the DOT Office remind drivers to be alert for flaggers and construction workers. Drivers are also encouraged to be patient and kind, as we are aware of a social media post made recently, where one local resident was informed by a construction worker that they have apparently been receiving nasty gestures, remarks and even having drivers disobey signals by flaggers.

For those inquiring about a parking ban for this year’s fair parade, which is Tuesday night, July 22 at 7:00 p.m., village officials confirm that while there is no parking ban this year, traffic will be shut-down along the parade route starting at 6:00 p.m.

The parade route comes out onto Main Street from Church Street (this includes Charles Street area as well) and up Main Street by the downtown businesses before merging onto a portion of Schuyler Street. At the four way stop-light next to the village park, the parade briefly turns onto Post Street before hooking a right up onto Ford Street, where it will proceed to the fairgrounds gate and conclude at the track stage.

Normal traffic patterns will resume along the parade route at its conclusion.
