ICYMI: Numerous head-on collision victims sent to area hospitals Friday in Lewis County

LOWVILLE- We are still waiting on further developments to surface from Friday’s head-on collision outside of Lowville, NY that sent several victims to area hospitals.

According to emergency dispatch, it happened sometime around 12:30 noontime on State Route 26.

The accident involved a military van and a pick-up truck. Emergency responders said the jaws of life had to be used to help free victims from the wreckage.

So far, a total of 6 people were taken to area hospitals, emergency officials said.

We are awaiting further updates from police investigators and we will follow up with anything new that may be released.

At the time of the accident, emergency responders described icy and snow covered road conditions.
