Interview: Joshua Fitzgerald talks second annual Development Disabilities Awareness Event at Boonville VFW Sunday, March 17

BOONVILLE- Following a successful debut last-year, local officials are returning to the VFW again this-year for a special event that revolves around Developmental Disability Awareness Month.

From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17, folks are invited to join Tammy Kelly, from Sunrise Fields Farm, & Josh Fitzgerald, from Lake Effect Tech, for a family and sensory friendly event.

"We will have plenty of sensory and family friendly activities for all our participants to enjoy; including Basket Heads, Coloring Table Cloths, Checkers, Tic Tac Toe, Giant Connect 4, Ring Toss, Bean Bag Toss, & more," according to the official DDAM Celebration Event Facebook page.

"DDAM raises awareness of the inclusion and contributions of people with developmental disabilities (DD) in all aspects of community life and serves as a time to explore the work still needed to remove barriers."

Experts from the following service providers will be on site to answer all questions/concerns:
