
CHAMPION- The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect as of Tuesday, December 30. However, further details were not available. We will update with a new report when authorities release a suspect name.
***ORIGINAL REPORT HERE: Investigators say they are looking into an incident which occurred sometime overnight on December 28, where a suspect, who appears to be dressed in camouflage, entered various school busses at the Carthage Central School Bus Garage in the town of Champion.
Surveillance footage shows this suspect apparently helping himself to some tools. The suspect also managed to go through the bus garage and various offices.
Police say this suspect arrived on a small, white colored e-bike, which the suspect managed to crash into a bus before fleeing.
Investigators describe this alleged thief as a white male, possibly in his late 20’s or early 30’s, with light facial hair.
At the time of this incident, the suspect was wearing a camo hunting jacket and pink palm tree patterned pants.
