Jefferson County shoplifting complaint results in charges filed against two North Country residents

LE RAY- A local resident is among two suspects accused in a North Country shoplifting case, authorities say.

Rachel L. Lewis, 20, of Carthage, NY was arrested Tuesday afternoon by the New York State Police (Watertown). Lewis is officially charged with one misdemeanor count of petit larceny.

Brandi L. Cason, 20, of Fort Drum, NY was also arrested and charged with the same.

According to Troopers, these charges stem from shoplifting complaints filed earlier the same afternoon in the town of Le Ray.

Both suspects were issued with an appearance ticket, according to what the State Police said at press time.

There were no further details included to report.
