LOWVILLE- Shoplifting complaints from last week's Lewis County Fair have resulted in charges filed against a local suspect, according to authorities.
Betty J. Silva, 52, of Lowville, NY was arrested Monday by the Village Police Department. Silva is officially charged with two counts of petit larceny.
Investigators say the arrest stems from shoplifting complaints at the 202nd annual Lewis County Fair.
Silva was issued with appearance tickets before being remanded to the county jail on a warrant obtained via Lewis County Probation. It's reported that Silva violated conditions of probation.
All charges are returnable to Lowville Town Court at a later date.
