LEWIS COUNTY- Despite any possible rumors you may have heard, New York State Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush is not retiring. In fact, he plans to run next year.

Representing constituents of the 117 Assembly District, Blankenbush told us during the Lewis County fair that someone, a few weeks prior, had approached him, claiming that they had heard he was going to retire.

The Assemblyman thought nothing much of it, but heard the same exact claim numerous times from other folks not long after, prompting him to sound the alarm and set things straight.

"If anyone is walking around knocking on your door saying that I am retiring, it is not true," Assemblyman Blankenbush told us.

Blankenbush says there has been an individual, who apparently plans to compete in the 2024 election, who has been going around and spreading the rumor that the Assemblyman is planning to retire.

This person was not named by Blankenbush.

The Assemblyman says he looks forward to continuing his work and representing the folks of New York's 117 Assembly District.
