ROME- A few new developments have come to light concerning a major apartment complex fire early Tuesday.

As previously reported, the fire sparked sometime around 4:30 a.m. at Countryside Apartments, located at 7108 Rome Oriskany Road, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.

For several hours, Deputies worked alongside the State Police and other emergency responders in locating victims.

Per the latest updates from investigators, emergency responders are no longer searching for unaccounted residents.

According to the previous updates Tuesday morning, there were two residents who remained unaccounted for, but one has since been located safe, as they were not present when the blaze occurred.

There was another female victim who was found with severe burns. She was taken to Wynn Hospital and her condition was critical as of Tuesday morning.

For now, members from the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office have stepped in to help identify the deceased victim.
