LOWVILLE- A man arrested last week on five felony counts, for allegedly violating the sex offender registry, is now faced with more charges after contacting a protected party from jail on numerous occasions.

Shawn A. Kloster, 39, of Carthage, NY was arrested on Friday by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Kloster is formally charged with three counts of criminal contempt in the second-degree.

Last Wednesday, Kloster was charged by Sheriff’s Investigators after failing to register five separate internet accounts with the sex offender registry.

During his current incarceration in the county jail as of this report, police allege that Kloster reached out and contacted a protected party on three separate occasions.

Following an arraignment in CAP Court, Kloster was remanded back to the county jail on $2,000 cash and $4,000 bond.
