LOWVILLE- Lewis County Public Health is seeking a few more recruits who would be willing to participate in their next Diabetes Prevention and Healthy Lifestyle Course.
The class, which is free, is aimed to start up sometime in January and focuses around learning a lifestyle to reduce risks of becoming diabetic or pre-diabetic.
"One in three people have pre-diabetes and eighty-percent don't even kn ow they have it," said Lewis County Public Health Specialist Sierra Kempney.
"Pre-diabetes puts you at an increased risk of developing type two diabetes, heart disease and stroke."
Although the course is designed around folks who are at risk of becoming diabetic, those who wish to shed off some weight are more than welcome to join as well.
