Lewis County resident busted on various theft related accusations; additional charges pending multiple ongoing investigations

NEW BREMEN & WATSON- A North Country area resident is facing various theft related accusations amidst an ongoing string of investigations in Lewis County.

Patrick R. Delles, 39, of Glenfield, NY was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday. Sheriff’s Investigators say they have been actively following a spree of multiple fuel thefts.

It is reported that Delles was first located on the Hoffman Road in the town of New Bremen sometime shortly after 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, where he was allegedly in possession of three stolen batteries off from a log truck.

Police said that Delles also had a loaded .22 rifle in his vehicle, which he was not supposed to possess due to a prior felony conviction.

Deputies took Delles into custody and charged him with misdemeanor counts of petit larceny and criminally possessing a weapon in the fourth-degree.

Upon further investigation into a complaint the Sheriff’s Office took on Tuesday, Delles was also charged with additional felony counts of criminal mischief in the third-degree and grand larceny in the fourth-degree.

Those felony accusations reportedly are connected to a larceny of several aluminum wheels, truck batteries and 75-gallons of diesel fuel in the town of Watson.

Following an arraignment in Lowville Town CAP Court, Delles was released to probation supervision.

More charges are possible, pending the outcome of multiple other ongoing investigations.
