LOWVILLE- A local resident is charged for allegedly failing to provide food and water to a pair of dogs locked in a garage, authorities say.
Dakota Rogers, 25, of Lowville, NY is officially charged by the village police department for one count of violating the Ag and Markets Law of failure to provide food and water.
According to Chief of Police Daryl R. Ortlieb, authorities investigated complaints on May 9 from Cascade Avenue, where two dogs were locked in a garage without food or water.
Officials say the Town of Lowville Animal Control seized both dogs and turned them over for care at Lewis County Humane Society.
Rogers was issued with an appearance ticket, which is returnable to Lowville Town Court at a later date.
At press time, Lowville Police said an investigation is pending and additional arrests are likely.
