Lewis County resident faced with felony and misdemeanor charges in wake of North Country burglary investigation

FOWLER- A local resident is faced with numerous felony charges in the wake of a burglary investigation in St. Lawrence County.

Joseph Robert Clement, 32, of Harrisville, NY was arrested on Thursday morning by the New York State Police (Canton). Clement is formally charged with one felony count of burglary in the second-degree; two felony counts each of criminal contempt in the first-degree and one misdemeanor count of petit larceny.

Troopers say these charges all stem from a burglary complaint this week in the town of Fowler.

At press time, police said an investigation was pending. Meanwhile, Clement’s arrest status was listed as ‘cash bail’ (no amount listed).
