Local bus driver accused of operating recklessly with students aboard in Remsen

REMSEN- A local bus driver is accused of endangering the safety of numerous students this month in Oneida County.

Sheriff’s investigators say that Donna M. Worden, 58, of Cold Brook, NY is formally charged with one misdemeanor count of assault in the third-degree; 13 misdemeanor counts each of endangering the welfare of a child and 14 misdemeanor counts each of reckless endangerment in the second-degree.

Worden was arrested on Thursday. Deputies allege that Worden intentionally drove a Remsen CSD bus in a reckless manner, which caused an injury to at-least one student, while also endangering the rest of the students aboard.

School district officials told police that the incident occurred on March 5 in the town of Remsen.

Worden is due to address the charges in Remsen Town Court at a later date.
