Lewis County Sheriff’s Employees Unit endorses Mike Carpinelli for re-election

LOWVILLE- The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office Employees Unit is endorsing Mike Carpinelli for re-election.

The Sheriff is being challenged this time around by Nichole Turck, a retired Trooper from the New York State Police.

With Primary Day approaching on June 27, the Employees Unit endorsement vote came in with 26 approving the move, while 2 opposed.

Only a couple of weeks ago, Sheriff Carpinelli received unanimous endorsement from his county road patrol unit.

Meanwhile, Nichole Turck secured endorsement from the Conservative Party and the Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties Central Trades and Labor Council.

The employee unit consists of correction officers, dispatchers and civilian employees.

The Sheriff and his opponent will meet on Thursday, June 15 for a candidates meet and discussion session at Lowville Academy. The event is aimed for 7:00 p.m. that evening.
