‘Meet the Candidates’ nights announced for Lewis County Sheriff and Legislators
LOWVILLE- The Lewis County Farm Bureau and Lewis County Republican Committee will jointly host four Meet the Candidates Nights coming up this month for the candidates in the Republican primaries for Lewis County Sheriff and Legislator.
The events will be open to the public. The schedule is as follows:
- Tuesday, June 13, in the Lowville Academy and Central School auditorium (7668 North State Street, Lowville) from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Candidates for Legislator in Districts 5 (Richard Chartrand and Vinnie Nortz) and 6 (Andrea Moroughan and Steve Stogsdill)
- Wednesday, June 14, in the Beaver River Central School auditorium (9508 Artz Road, Beaver Falls) from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Candidates for Legislator in Districts 2 (Lisa Virkler and Thomas Kalamas) and 4 (Ian Gilbert and Barry Lyndaker)
- Thursday, June 15, in the Lowville Academy and Central School auditorium (7668 North State Street, Lowville) from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Candidates for Sheriff (Michael Carpinelli and Nichole Turck)
- Monday, June 19, in the Town of Denmark Municipal Building (3707 Roberts Road,Deer River) from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Candidates for Legislator in Districts 3 (Jessica Moser and Pat Mahar)
Each event will consist of an introductory statement by each candidate, a question and answer period and closing remarks by each candidate.
The question and answer period will be broken into four separate areas of inquiry, with two questions in each area. Each candidate will be allowed two minutes to answer each question. The questions will be prepared by the hosts prior to the events and be provided to the candidates before the events, so each candidate can prepare their respective responses. There will be no questions taken from the audience during the events.
Farm Bureau is providing the moderator for events on June 13 & 19, and WWNY-TV the moderators on June 14 (Lexi Bruening) & June 15 (John Moore).
