Lewis County Sheriff's Office warns of latest jury duty scam

LOWVILLE- Sheriff’s Investigators out of Lewis County are warning of a jury duty scam that has been going around, where fraudsters have been claiming to be with the Sheriff’s Office.

Specifically, this scam involves a Venmo payment request for missing jury duty.

Anyone who has received a call like this is warned that it is completely fraudulent.

Those who receive a call similar in nature are asked to file a report with the Sheriff’s Office at 315-376-3511.

Officials warn to never provide any personal information to an untrusted source.
