LOWVILLE- Lewis County will soon celebrate the re-opening of six major bridges, which all underwent major repairs and upgrades during a capital construction project.
“These projects were a true example of a team effort,” said County Manager Timothy Hunt.
“It was great to see the towns and villages coming together to work with the state to make these projects a reality.”
For context, these projects were organized and planned before this summer’s flooding that damaged regions of Lewis County in July.
Bridges for this project included the Whitesville Road (Barnes Corners); West Road (over Whetstone Gulf); East Road (over Moose Creek); Obrien Road (Town of Lowville); Crofoot Bridge (Town of West Turin) and Gardner Road.
A special ceremony will be held Monday, October 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gardner and Sharp Road Bridge (Lowville).
