SCHUYLER- A local resident from Oneida County is accused of criminally possessing a controlled substance in the Mohawk Valley, authorities say.

Christopher James Grenicko, 43, of Remsen, NY was arrested Wednesday night by the New York State Police (Herkimer). Grenicko is formally charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh-degree.

According to Troopers, the arrest was made in the town of Schuyler, Herkimer County. At press time, police said an investigation was pending.

Meanwhile, Grenicko was issued with an appearance ticket.

There were no further details provided.
