ONEIDA COUNTY- A local man is faced with felony charges for allegedly possessing and promoting child pornography in Oneida County.

Christopher Maloy, 70, of Holland Patent, NY was arrested last Thursday by the Sheriff’s Department for two felony counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance of a Child, along with one more felony count of Possessing a Sexual Performance of a Child.

The case opened when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) was notified by an online platform that an individual in Holland Patent had uploaded several images of child pornography.

The case was eventually transferred to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.

Investigators, including assistance via the Department of Homeland Security, gathered enough evidence to draft a search warrant, which was later executed at the residence in Holland Patent, where authorities seized several electronic devices.

These devices were examined by members of the Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit.

Maloy was taken in to the Sheriff’s Office, where he was processed and later arraigned in CAP Court.

Maloy was later remanded to the county jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
