North Country resident charged with felony criminal contempt in Lewis County, Troopers say

DIANA- A North Country resident is faced with a felony accusation stemming from a reported Lewis County domestic incident this week, authorities say.

Colby V. Whitton, 21, of Natural Bridge, NY was arrested early Friday by the New York State Police (Carthage). Whitton is formally charged with one felony count of criminal contempt in the first-degree (violate protection order – physical menace).

According to Troopers, the arrest stems from an alleged domestic dispute late Thursday night in the town of Diana.

At press time, police said an investigation was pending. Meanwhile, Whitton’s arrest status suggested an appearance for centralized arraignment.
