Local man flown to SUNY Upstate for non-life threatening injuries following motorcycle accident near Forestport

FORESTPORT- A local man was flown to a Syracuse, NY area hospital after flipping his motorcycle Wednesday evening in Northern Oneida County, according to emergency responders.

It was shortly before 7:15 p.m. when 9-1-1 dispatchers received reports of a motorcycle accident on the O'Brien Road, town of Forestport.

Investigation via the Sheriff's Office suggests that Kevin A. Bowen, 28, of Remsen, NY was operating a 2004 Black Harley Davidson southbound when he lost control of his motorcycle.

Bowen flipped his motorcycle and slid across the payment.

He was flown by Mercy Flight Helicopter to Upstate Medical University Hospital for what authorities described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Injury specifics were not mentioned at press time. 

As of this report, no citations have been issued and the investigation is ongoing.

Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Star Ambulance and Forestport Fire Department.
