If you have, local authorities say it is a scam.

Lewis County Clerk Jake Moser reached out to us Friday morning, claiming that his DMV office in Lowville, NY has received several complaints regarding this scam (or something very similar to it) within the last week.

We have arranged a time to share more details with Clerk Moser, which will air in the coming days ahead live on North Country News.

Per the usual advice from local police officials, it is always wise to never reveal any personal information to an untrusted source, especially when the scenario appears urgent, suspicious or outrageous.
