Local resident charged with intoxicated driving and other offenses following side-swipe in town of Webb

WEBB- A resident from the Western Adirondacks is accused of intoxicated driving after police investigated a side-swipe in Herkimer County.

Last Monday, the Town of Webb Police Department arrested and charged a 23-year-old male subject from Big Moose, NY with DWI, leaving the scene of a property damage accident (w/out reporting), failure to keep right and speeds not reasonable or prudent.

A name of the suspect was not provided in police reports.

According to investigators, the 23-year-old suspect had side-swiped a vehicle passing in the opposite lane.

The incident occurred on Big Moose Road. About a mile down the road, the suspect went off the road and crashed into a tree.

Initially, police determined the driver was intoxicated and further charges are pending lab results.
