
LOWVILLE- A local resident in Lewis County is accused of trespassing after occupying an establishment that he had been barred from entering, authorities say.
James Collins, 48, of Lowville, NY was arrested on Monday by the Village Police Department. Collins is formally charged with trespass.
According to Chief of Police Daryl Ortlieb, Mr. Collins is accused of entering the Stewart’s Shops on South State Street after being advised by the manager on the previous day that he was not allowed inside.
Despite being advised the second time, it’s reported that Collins refused to leave, until the police arrived.
Mr. Collins was issued with an appearance ticket, which is returnable to Lowville Town Court at a later date.
