ONEIDA COUNTY- A local man is accused of taking money for contracting work, but never accomplished anything agreed upon.
James Simpson, 40, of Floyd, NY was arrested recently by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office. He is charged with felony grand larceny in the third-degree.
Police fielded complaints over the winter in early January, where Simpson allegedly took $3,000 in contracting payments, but never actually did any of the work agreed upon.
Investigators were able to locate Simpson and arrest him, without incident.
Following processing, Simpson was sent to the county jail to await CAP court arraignment.
The case was handled by the county’s Criminal Investigators Unit.
