LEWIS COUNTY- Minor injuries were reported after a county truck and a school bus crashed into one another this week.

It was on Wednesday afternoon when a Lewis County pick-up truck failed to navigate a corner on the Ridge Road (near New Bremen, NY) and crashed into the driver’s front side of a Beaver River Central School Bus.

This has all been confirmed by the Superintendent of Schools, Todd Green.

No serious injuries were reported, but Superintendent Green did mention there were some students who had to be checked out at the Emergency Room for what was described as minor injuries.

Superintendent Green also mentioned how the bus driver received medical care.

Since our original discussion with officials Friday afternoon, we have since received confirmation of a second accident involving a Beaver River Central School Bus that occurred on Thursday afternoon.

It reportedly happened at the intersection of Kirschnerville and Steiner Roads. School officials said the bus driver pulled into the path of an oncoming SUV, resulting in a collision.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in the second crash.

For now, Superintendent Green says Beaver River will be down a pair of busses and will likely need replacement.
