Misdemeanor sex offense charge filed against local resident in Herkimer County

NEWPORT- A local resident from the Herkimer County area is accused of a misdemeanor sex offense charge.

On Thursday afternoon, the New York State Police (Herkimer) arrested Kaiden M. Murphy, 20, of Newport, NY with one count of forcible touching (sexual/intimate parts of another person).

According to Troopers, the arrest was made following a complaint filed last Sunday in the town of Newport.

At press time, police said that an investigation was pending. Meanwhile, Murphy was issued with an appearance ticket.

There were no further details provided.
