DENMARK- A resident from the Mohawk Valley is faced with a pair of felony accusations in Lewis County, authorities say.
Steven J. Dellanno, 37, of Whitesboro, NY was arrested on Monday by the Sheriff’s Office. Dellanno is formally charged with one felony count each of criminally possessing a weapon in the third-degree and criminal contempt in the first-degree.
According to investigators, Dellanno currently has an active order of protection filed against him, which prohibits him from possessing firearms. However, with that said, it is alleged that Dellanno was found possessing an assault rifle at a town of Denmark address.
The incident reportedly occurred on August 30, police said.
At press time, authorities said Dellanno was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
