Southern Tug Hill Sno Riders January Fog 2024

Trail conditions have nose-dived all week. With mild temperatures and rainfall, several snowmobile clubs throughout the North Country and beyond have had no choice but to suspend grooming and close the trails.

Several clubs are advising not to ride until conditions improve significantly.

Here are the latest reports we’ve gathered:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Trails continue to deteriorate amidst mild, rainy weather.

Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Trails are CLOSED.

Long Pond Sno Sled Club: No active grooming until weather conditions allow.

Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Trails are CLOSED.

Missing Link Snowmobile Club: No grooming until further notice; Carthage to Belfort was CLOSED this week; expect mud and water holes.

Osceola Snowmobile Association: No updates since January 21.

Ohio Ridge Riders: Trails are CLOSED.

Old Forge/Town of Webb: Marginal conditions; grooming is suspended until further notice.

Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Trails are CLOSED.

Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: No grooming until further notice.

Trackside Blazers: Trails are CLOSED.

Turin Ridge Riders: Riding is not recommended until conditions improve.

Valley Snow Travelers: Lower trails are CLOSED and riding on the seasonal roads is not recommended.

NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
