Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Tuesday, February 20, 2024
Sled traffic seems to have been very busy since the weekend. Several trail systems have re-opened and grooming crews have been active all over.
With that said, there are reports of certain hazards, including water holes. In general, it appears the latest batch of snow was very light and fluffy, meaning it has been difficult to re-establish a base for some clubs. In addition, there have been numerous complaints where snowmobilers have been blatantly disregarding closed trails and riding on private property. Such actions could result in trail closures, club officials warn. Here are the latest reports we’ve gathered:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Trails are open; traffic has been heavy.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Trails are open; groomers have been active; there is access to Tug Hill.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Trails are open, however; conditions range from poor to fair.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Trails are open. Grooming crews have been active.
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Trails are open from West Carthage to Copenhagen, Maples and Great Bend.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: Trails are open and in good shape.
Ohio Ridge Riders: Trails are open; grooming crews have been active.
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Trails have re-opened; conditions range from fair to good.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Trails are open; use caution and watch for hazards.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Trails are open and conditions range from fair to excellent.
Trackside Blazers: Trails are open; grooming crews have been active; watch for hazards.
Turin Ridge Riders: Tug Hill trails are open; lower trails are open, but with thinning coverage.
Valley Snow Travelers: Trails are groomed from Montague, Flat Rock Inn and Tabolts Corners. Lowville trails are thin.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
