Penn Mountain Trails February 2025

Snowmobiling 2025 marches on across upstate New York and the North Country.

An exceptional season continues as the middle part of February nears. The reports keep pouring in – the trails are just simply phenomenal – “some of the best conditions in years,” one local club official said.

From Tug Hill to the Western Adirondacks and beyond, there is great snow coverage and the groomers have been busy on a weekly basis since early January.

If you’re planning to come up and hit the trails, beware that the extended forecast from the National Weather Service suggests more significant snowfall is likely this weekend and early next week.

Here are some of the latest reports we’ve gathered from around the local area:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: “It doesn’t get much better than this!” Trails remain excellent.

Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Smooth trails and great conditions.

Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Grooming continues and trails remain in great shape.

Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Trails are groomed. Great conditions reported.

Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Trails remain good and groomers have been out.

Osceola Snowmobile Association: Trails remain in excellent shape.

Ohio Ridge Riders: Lots of sled traffic reported. Groomers will be out.

Old Forge/Town of Webb: Trail conditions are excellent.

Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Groomers have been out over the last few days.

Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Trails continue to be in excellent shape.

Trackside Blazers: Conditions are expected to remain great.

Turin Ridge Riders: Conditions continue ranging from good to excellent.

Valley Snow Travelers: Groomers have been out on Tug Hill and toward Lowville.

NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
