Not much has changed for the better since our last report, unfortunately.
The days before Christmas offered some fantastic riding conditions for so early in the season and now that we have begun the New-Year, one would be shocked to see how quickly the trails have deteriorated.
It’s almost like we are right back to square one, as several local snowmobile clubs have pulled the plug on their trail systems until the snow machine fires back up.
Here are the latest updates we have gathered:
Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Grooming suspended until further notice; poor conditions reported.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Trails are CLOSED.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Trails are CLOSED.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Trails are CLOSED.
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Grooming is suspended until further notice.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: Riding is not recommended until further notice.
Ohio Ridge Riders: No recent updates. Their message: Do the snow dance!
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Marginal conditions reported; up to 2-inches of base.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Trails are CLOSED.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Trails are CLOSED; riding on seasonal roads not recommended.
Trackside Blazers: Trails are CLOSED.
Turin Ridge Riders: Lower trails are CLOSED. Grooming is suspended until further notice.
Valley Snow Travelers: No grooming until further notice.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
