More than 2/3 of people interviewed in the latest Sienna College poll say that the cost of living is a top issue at hand with the 2025 legislative session drawing closer.
The poll was conducted December 2 -5, 2024, with 834 registered state voters participating via online and telephone.
When asked if they would vote to re-elect Governor Hochul or would rather have someone else, about 33% said they would re-elect, while 57% said vote another candidate.
On the heels of living costs on the rise, voters say affordable housing and the influx of migrants are other top focus points.
In the poll, Hochul’s favorability rating was slightly better (39 – 49%) when compared to October when it was (36 – 51%). Her job approval rating also got a bump (46 – 49%), which is up from a previous poll (41 – 51%).
