
LEWIS- A motor vehicle wreck over the weekend in Lewis County has resulted in DWI charges against a local resident.
Emergency responders were called out shortly after 11:00 p.m. Saturday to the Witzigman Road (town of Lewis) for reports of a motor vehicle wreck.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the driver in this wreck, identified as Charles B. Sterling, 50, of West Leyden, NY allegedly failed field sobriety tests on-scene.
Sterling was subsequently taken in to the Public Safety Building, where he reportedly registered a .14% BAC.
Police charged Sterling with DWI and numerous other unspecified traffic violations. All charges are returnable to town of Lewis Court at a later date.
