Multiple fire departments respond to garage and house fire in Steuben
ONEIDA COUNTY- Details remain limited in the wake of a garage fire that sparked shortly before noontime Tuesday in the town of Steuben.
Western Fire Department was the primary responder to reports of a garage fire at 8960 Dole Road. Remsen, Boonville and Floyd Fire Departments were all called for mutual aid.
Initial reports from 9-1-1 dispatch suggest that the fire sparked in the garage.
Although there is no official word as of this report from emergency responders regarding the condition of the garage or the home, bystanders claimed they saw the garage as a total loss.
Firefighters were called back out to the scene shortly before 8:00 p.m. Tuesday for reports of a re-kindle, according to 9-1-1 dispatch.
