NEW: Poland Joint Fire will not dissolve, voting results show

HERKIMER COUNTY- The Poland Joint Fire District will not be dissolved.

According to some of the latest updates from WKTV, there were 211 taxpayers who voted to dissolve the joint district, while 654 voted not to.

This means that the joint fire district will remain intact.

Last August, the fire district cut its ties with the Poland Fire Company over several apparent issues that related to performance, training and personnel.

Ever since, the fire company has not been able to respond to any calls, but rather neighboring fire districts have been tasked with picking up the slack.

It is reported that Poland Fire Company went all the way to the State Supreme Court asking to be reinstated. However, reports suggest the judge has reserved a decision until after the vote took place.
