WEBB- No injuries have been reported in the wake of a fuel-truck roll-over accident in the Western Adirondacks.
It happened Thursday morning shortly after 10:00 a.m. on South Shore Road, town of Webb (just east of Old Forge), according to Town of Webb Police.
Investigation thus far has revealed that John Selby III, 45, of Inlet, NY was driving a fuel truck east. Chief of Police Ron Johnston says the rear of the truck lost control, struck a snowbank and overturned.
***CORRECTION: Selby III was the only occupant of the truck and was not injured in the accident.
Officials said the roads locally were extremely icy from a mix of snow and freezing rain. The road was shut-down for a couple of hours.
No tickets have been issued.
A small amount of fuel did leak from the tanker and the State DEC Spill Response Team handled the situation.
Members from Old Forge Fire Department, Environmental Conservation Officers and Morin’s Towing all provided assistance.
