
CHAMPION- A domestic incident this week in Jefferson County has resulted in charges against a local resident.
Joseph A. Haughton, 36, of Carthage, NY was arrested and charged late Wednesday night by the New York State Police (Watertown) with one felony count of criminal contempt in the first-degree and one misdemeanor count of menacing in the third-degree.
Troopers say these charged were filed in the wake of a reported domestic incident in the town of Champion.
At press time, authorities said that an investigation was pending. Meanwhile, Haughton’s arrest status suggested an appearance for centralized arraignment.
