North Country resident accused of criminal contempt in Jefferson County

WATERTOWN- A local resident from the North Country is faced with a charge stemming from an alleged domestic dispute in Jefferson County, authorities say. Richard Scott II Lavancha, 20, of Natural Bridge, NY was arrested early Friday by the New York State Police (Carthage). Lavancha is formally charged with one misdemeanor count of criminal contempt in the second-degree (disobeying a court order). According to Troopers, the arrest stems from a domestic dispute complaint in the town of Watertown, which was reported on Thursday. At press time, police said that Lavancha appeared for centralized arraignment and there were no further details provided.
