North Country resident charged with felony rape in Jefferson County, Troopers say

WILNA- A North Country resident is faced with a pair of felony rape charges in Jefferson County.

On Thursday afternoon, Jose Ramon Medina, 29, of Carthage, NY was arrested and charged by the New York State Police (Watertown) with two (one count each) felony accusations of rape in the second-degree.

According to Troopers, the arrest stems from a sex offense case in the town of Wilna, which was reported on Monday, May 19.

At press time, police said that an investigation was pending, while Medina’s arrest status suggested an appearance for centralized arraignment.

There were no further details provided.
